WHAT IS Dermaplanning?
A dermaplaning-facial starts just like a facial treatment, during the exfoliation stage of the facial we use a scalpel blade to exfoliate which removes vellus hair or “peach fuzz” from the face. Dermaplaning also exfoliates the skin at the same time which allows our medical grade skin care to better penetrate the skin for optimal results during a facial treatment.
Here at Knott Street Dermatology, we focus on skin health and Dermaplaning is a great way to get started. We do encourage medical grade skin care(hyperlink) to your everyday regimen to enhance the results from Dermaplaning.
Dermaplaning usually consist of a deep cleaning, followed by pimple/blemish extraction, Exfoliation via Dermaplaning, a mask or peel, a hydrating massage and a final application of moisturizer, eye cream and SPF.
Key Benefits of Dermaplaning:
- Smoother skin
- Hydrated skin
- Glowing complexion
What to Expect After Treatment:
Additional Treatments we offer that compliment Dermaplaning:
- Chemical peel is another great addition to a superficial chemical peel helps the peel better penetrate the skin for optimal results.
- Hydro-Jelly mask and LED add on. The Hydro-Jelly mask will help with hydration penetration and will sooth the skin after a dermaplaning treatment.
- Microneedling, or Collagen Induction Therapy, by stimulating your body’s organic ability to produce collagen.
- Broad Band Light (BBL)(hyperlink) therapy is another great addition to Dermaplaning. BBL uses pulses of light to remove unwanted pigmentation.
