BBL™ Corrective

Broadband Light (BBL) delivers light energy that gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The targeted skin areas absorb heat, which stimulates the regeneration of new skin cells. Sciton BBL treatments can target age and sun spots, small facial veins, and many other skin conditions. A provider can tailor a treatment plan to match your skin type and desired results.

FOREVER YOUNG BBL™ TREATMENT

BBL’s innovative technology uniquely delivers light therapy that slows down the ageing process and treats sun damage and effectively provides a more refreshed, rejuvenated, and youthful appearance. Forever Young BBL treatment targets a wide variety of conditions, such as active acne, age spots, freckles, redness, and small blood vessels (broken capillaries). BBL photofacial is often mistake for a laser treatment but intense pulsed light isn’t the same type of laser. Lasers use one wavelength of light at a time and BBL uses scattered light in a variety of wavelengths.

Benefits of BBL Treatment:

  • Broken capillaries
  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Rosacea
  • General facial redness and flushing

How Does a BBL Treatment Work?

Through a multi-pass approach a specialized waveform of light is used to target the desired area. Once the light reaches the pigmented cells the skin absorbs the light and converts it to heat. Each targeted area is heated up to a desired level, don’t worry the skin is protected by a thermoelectric cooled sapphire crystal. The body will then eliminate the vessel or pigmented area leaving you with clearer complexion and more youthful appearance.

How to Prepare for a BBL treatment:

During your consultation instructions and post care products will be discussed. When you meet with our aesthetics team, and it is determined you are a good candidate for a BBL treatment it is important to avoid the following at least 3 weeks prior to treatment:
  • Tanning in the sun
  • Tanning beds
  • Dermal fillers
  • Chemical peels or other harsh skin treatments
  • Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or other blood thinners
  • Accutane within the last 12 months

What is the BBL Recovery Process Like?

There is little to no downtime after a BBL treatment. You can return to normal activities following the procedure. Over time the pigment will rise to the surface of the skin appearing and feeling a little like coffee grounds. Let them naturally exfoliate in order to not interfere with the healing process. This generally takes about a week.
